The city of York offers many different overnight locations, many within the vicinity of the 2018GSFL venue at the University of York. The exact address for the conference is the Berrick Saul Building on the Heslington West Campus of the University of York. A map of the campus can be found here.
On-campus Lodging
Very basic onsite accommodation for conference attendees is available on-campus. However, space is limited. Student accommodation is available on both the Heslington West campus and in the postgraduate college (Wentworth). Please do note that staying in the student dorms on Heslington East involves a walk of maybe a mile and a half to get to Hes West, but there’s a free shuttle bus service that links the two campuses. There’s now a small supermarket and a bakery at the edge of the Hes East site. There are coffee outlets and a restaurant at the new Piazza building, which itself opened within the last couple of months. One word of caution: getting to and from town Hes East isn’t centrally located as it is practically at the outer ring road. If you are interested in exploring this option, simply click here.
